The Avdiivka direction is one of the hottest on the front. The Russian army is trying to encircle the city, but the enemy is running out of steam, just like in the Bakhmut direction.
Alexey Dmitrashkovsky, a representative of the Defense Forces of the Tauride direction, spoke about this at a briefing on March 24.
Avdiivka is under constant attack from the Russians, but the Armed Forces of Ukraine are holding back the enemy.
Dmitrashkovsky said that the city lives under the round-the-clock shelling of mortars, aircraft and missiles. Over the past day, there were 38 clashes in the area of Avdiivka and Marinka, but the invaders were not successful, – said the speaker of the Defense Forces of the Tauride direction.
The enemy has a noticeable shortage of equipment and ammunition. A very low moral and psychological state is noticeable. There is a lot of panic, they are very afraid of our counteroffensive. Interceptions of telephone conversations testify to this,” Dmitrashkovsky said.
According to him, in order to show his presence and the availability of equipment, the enemy has a false position in many places in the Avdiivka direction. The invaders allegedly place tanks and other equipment on them in order to divert the attention of the Ukrainian defenders.
The speaker of the Defense Forces also denied the fake Russians about the alleged capture of the settlement of Novobakhmutovka.
The head of the MVA, Barabash, commented on the threat of the Avdiivka cordon: the military of the Russian Federation has not yet succeeded, but the “sick” assault operations do not stop.
Hard, very hard, they press. So far, they have not succeeded in anything, but they do not give up either desire, or all these, as they say, their sick, some kind of assault actions. They simply defy logic in the modern world – it’s so easy to put people down,” Barabash said on the air of Donbass.Realii radio.
At the beginning of the week, the Defense Forces did not rule out that Avdiivka in the Donetsk region in the near future “may become the second Bakhmut.” The Russian military is constantly trying to cordon off the city.
