In Bakhmut, where fighting continues, there are still people with children who refuse to leave the city.
Bakhmut is a city that had about 84 thousand inhabitants as of February 24, 2022. Now, according to our estimates, less than 3.5 thousand people remain in the city of Bakhmut. These are the people, I can say with all responsibility, who do not want to leave the city from the word “absolutely”. A colossal amount of work has been done to evacuate them. People do not just refuse to leave, during apartment rounds by employees of the Main Police Department, employees of the State Emergency Service, they even hide, not wanting to leave,” said Pavel Kirilenko, chairman of the OVA.
He also noted that currently 32 children, whose parents refused to leave, remained in Bakhmut.
The situation at the front
Over the past day, 32 clashes took place in the Bakhmut direction, 28 of them directly in the city of Bakhmut. 276 shellings by different types of artillery were recorded, 69 of which were directly at the city.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on the large losses of the occupiers. Over the past day, 332 invaders were destroyed here, another 188 were injured. Due to heavy losses, the Wagnerites have to reinforce at the expense of units of the regular army of the Russian Federation, primarily airborne troops.
The enemy has launched four airstrikes in the past day. Russians use attack aircraft, in particular, Su-25 aircraft and attack helicopters such as Ka-52, Mi-24 and sometimes Mi-8, – said Sergey Cherevaty, a representative of the Eastern Group of Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
We can work around the clock on the occupiers, but nothing, – say the artillerymen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Bakhmut, suffering from “shell hunger”.
They try to compensate for the lack of shells with accuracy. But small units of opponents have to be ignored – too small a target.
