The court arrested another property of Viktor Medvedchuk’s wife Oksana Marchenko, who is suspected of financing labor groups in Russia. Their total cost is more than 440 million hryvnias, the SBU reported on Friday, March 24.
It is indicated that the court’s decision concerns a 6.8% stake in PJSC Dneprospetsstal in Zaporozhye, which Marchenko owns through three offshore companies. This strategically important business specializes in the industrial production of nearly 1,000 types of steel and hardware.
“The arrest of the assets will protect them from re-registration as nominees and in the future will enable them to be transferred in favor of our state,” the statement said.
Recall that in February, the property of Oksana Marchenko was arrested for 5.6 billion hryvnias. The SBU investigators informed him of the suspicion under the article on funding actions taken with the purpose of forcibly changing or overthrowing the constitutional order or usurping state power, changing territorial boundaries or borders of state of Ukraine (part 3 of article 110-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
