Ukrainian special services exposed two agents of the FSB of the Russian Federation engaged in reconnaissance and subversive activities in the Kyiv region and in Zaporozhye. This was reported by the SBU on Friday, March 24.
“In early February 2023, they were recruited by a staff of the FSB department for the Altai Territory. The recruitment took place through the Telegram channel, where the defendants periodically published their pro-Kremlin comments. On the enemy’s instructions, the agents are checking the location of Ukrainian military installations and law enforcement agencies,” the report said.
In Zaporozhye, the enemy’s henchman became the design engineer of the Motor Sich plant. He collected information about the Defense Forces in the Zaporozhye territory. The SBU detained the traitor during his reconnaissance mission – he photographed the buildings of the military hospital and the prosecutor’s office related to the area.
Another Russian agent was detained in the suburbs of Kyiv, when he tried to photograph one of the buildings of the State Emergency Service.
The occupiers need this information to conduct missile strikes on Ukrainian targets and prepare sabotage in the regions.
During the search, the detainees found mobile phones with evidence of the accomplishment of enemy activities and contact with the aggressor.
Both defendants were charged with suspicion under the article on high treason (part 2 of article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The court chose a measure of restraint for them – detention.
On the eve, it was reported that a man was imprisoned in Zhytomyr, passing intelligence to the “Wagnerites”. The enemy agent turned out to be a former deputy commander of one of the Ukrainian military units.
