The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia will expel an employee of the Russian Embassy from the country for active participation in destroying the security and constitutional structure of Estonia. It was reported by ERR.
The name of the Russian diplomat who was expelled was not released.
“Today, March 24, the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the charge d’affaires of the Russian embassy and handed over a diplomatic note stating that an employee of the Russian embassy with diplomatic status was declared persona non grata,” the EP Foreign. The Ministry said in a statement.
It is reported that the activity of this diplomat in Estonia is contrary to the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
“This diplomat took a direct and active part in undermining the security and constitutional order of Estonia, spreading propaganda justifying Russia’s military actions and participating in the division of Estonian society,” the country’s Foreign Ministry asserted.
It is reported that currently Estonia does not have its own ambassador in Moscow, and Russia does not have an ambassador in Tallinn.
