The United States has developed several options should Tehran decide to begin developing a nuclear bomb.
Iran is capable of making a nuclear bomb within months, but the US won’t let it. The Wall Street Journal reported this on March 23, citing the head of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, Mark Milley.
“Iran can produce material for a nuclear weapon in less than two weeks, and it will take several months to produce a real nuclear weapon,” the general said in a speech to the House of Representatives.
At the same time, he assured that Washington will not allow Tehran to acquire nuclear weapons. According to Milli, many options have been developed to deal with this situation.
In February, US intelligence agencies said Iran was not currently taking steps to acquire material that would help develop a nuclear bomb.
“As far as we know, the Supreme Leader of Iran has decided to continue the weapons program, which we believe they suspended or stopped at the end of 2003,” CIA director William Burns said.
It was previously reported that IAEA inspectors found enriched uranium in Iran, the purity of which was only 6% below the level required to create nuclear weapons.
