The Ministry of Defense of controlled Russia reported that the armed forces of the country will be replenished with a new anti-aircraft missile regiment with a permanent deployment point at the Luninets airfield in the Brest region (60 km from the border with the Rivne region).
The situation around our country is not becoming calmer. There is an active militarization of the West, the military potential is growing near our borders. Ukraine, pumped up with weapons, the leadership of Ukraine shows unpredictability in its actions. We are forced to act adequately on emerging challenges and threats, – said the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Belarus Viktor Khrenin.
According to Motolko Help, the regiment received the number 10198. The photos published by the Ministry of Defense of Belarus show S-300PS air defense systems. Most likely, the equipment (at least one division) was transferred from another air defense unit. At the same time, in December, the army of Belarus received a regimental set of S-400 air defense systems from Russia.
Recall that plans to deploy a new military unit at the Luninets airfield became known at the end of January 2022, during a visit to the airfield by a war criminal, the self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. Construction at the airport continued throughout the past year. A residential building with 72 apartments was built for the servicemen.
