Gennady Korban lost the trial against Roman Ratushny, an activist from Protasov Yar, who died in the war.
Korban demanded that the references to himself on the Facebook pages of Roman and the NGO Protasov Yar be recognized as unreliable.
This happened already after the businessman failed to build up Protasov Yar – the land plot managed to return the status of a green zone and declare a landscape reserve there.
Korban’s lawsuit has been going on for two years. The first instance sided with the businessman. However, the Kiev Court of Appeal canceled his claim completely.
Korban’s lawyers did not come to the hearing.
Previously, he sued an activist and a public organization for the protection of honor and dignity. In the lawsuit, he asked for refutation of information about his involvement in the Daytona Group LLC, attempts to build Protasovoy Yar, and his moral qualities.
On December 9, 2021, the Solomensky District Court of Kyiv satisfied Korban’s claim. In 2022, Kyiv’s appeal upheld this decision.
At the same time, the lawyers of the parents of the Ratushny Armed Forces volunteer who died last year and the public organization went to the Supreme Court. The latter annulled the decision of Kyiv’s appeal and sent the case back for a new appeal.
