The Ukrainian side continues to negotiate to rescue people from the Azovstal plant in Mariupol that was blocked by Russian occupiers.
Liberation of defenders from the factory Azovstal, Mariupol, Donetsk region, a relatively delicate and difficult process. This was announced on Sunday, May 15, by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in his video message.
He said that to free the Mariupol defenders from Azovstal they can’t, even if negotiations go on for a long time.
“We continue to have very complicated and delicate negotiations to rescue our people from Mariupol, from Azovstal. We deal with this issue every day. And most of all, the agreements were fulfilled, ”Zelensky said.
It is known that the Ukrainian defenders, holding the heroic defense at the Mariupol plant Azovstalis in a very difficult situation. There were about 600 wounded Ukrainian defenders in the plant’s territory intercepted by the Russian occupiers. Of these, 40 are in very serious condition.
Mariupol itself, which was destroyed by the Russians, is also under occupation. During the two and a half months of the war, at least 22 thousand people fell victim to the invaders in this city.
Earlier it was reported that relatives of the Azov fighters went to Turkey to thank President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for his support in rescuing the Mariupol defenders.
