Russia is slowing down its advance on Bakhmut by stepping up near Avdiivka, ISW analysts say. They also doubt the “tangible results” of possible Russian offensives in new directions, which Ukrainian officials and the White House have previously spoken about.
The Russian invaders are trying to cut the roads to Bakhmut, they are storming the area of Kremennaya, Maryinka and Avdiivka. During the day, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 83 attacks in Donbas, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.
Analysis of the video from the front was carried out by the Institute for the Study of War (USA). A geolocation video released on March 21 showed that Wagner forces made some progress in the southern part of Bakhmut.
Other footage released on March 21 shows Ukrainian counterattacks south of Ivanovskoye and southeast of Bohdanovka.
Also, judging by the video made near Avdiivka, Russian troops were advancing just north of Vodiane.
