The doctors said that the former president of Georgia only agrees to symptomatic treatment and expressed a lack of confidence in the staff.
The Vivamed Clinic, where the former president of Georgia, citizen of Ukraine Mikheil Saakashvili was treated, doubts the usefulness of his further stay in the institution and will address this issue with the penitentiary service. This was reported by the publication Novosti-Georgia.
The medical institution noted that Saakashvili only agrees to symptomatic treatment, which he can receive in any institution, and expresses a lack of confidence in the staff.
“Since last October, the patient has been refusing the proposed course of treatment, especially if this or that drug or method has a positive effect on his subjective or objective data,” said the clinic, emphasizing that no they want to have “reputational losses.”
Saakashvili’s lawyer Shalva Khachapuridze called the clinic’s statement “incomprehensible.”
“What does that mean – take him to another institution, where is it? In a colony, in a prison? It would be a death sentence in his condition,” he said.
Saakashvili’s family says his weight has dropped further this week, and he now weighs 62 kg with a height of 195 cm. Previously, doctors warned that if the weight reaches 52-53 kg, the situation will become irreversible.
The mother of the former president of Georgia said that her son’s body rejects food, so he takes it in small portions.
Recall that on March 12, Saakashvili said that he was “on the verge of death” in the hospital, where he was transferred from prison. Later it became known that the Polish medical team would have access to it.
