These two countries are part of the BRICS interstate association along with Russia, China and India. They are members of the International Criminal Court, have ratified the Rome Statute and are obliged to arrest Putin if he appears on their territory. In the summer of 2023, the BRICS summit is planned to be held in South Africa.
On March 17, 2023, the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin and Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights Maria Lvovskaya-Belova. They are accused of leading the deportation of Ukrainian children/
The invaders take Ukrainian children to the Russian Federation, destroy their Ukrainian identity, give citizenship and encourage Russians to adopt.
Children were taken out without the permission of relatives and Ukraine, in Russia they were granted citizenship. To do this, Putin adopted a number of decrees that simplified these procedures, and Lvova-Belova carried out his order. Together with their parents, up to 150 thousand children could be deported to Russia. This is the fifth time in its history that the International Court of Justice has issued such a warrant to a sitting president.
The 123 countries that have ratified the Rome Charter are now obliged to arrest Putin. These are all the countries of Europe, all the countries of South America, including some members of the BRICS, an organization in which Russia is a member. The members of the ISS also include Japan, Australia and Canada, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Mongolia and many other countries.
