Germany is working with Ukrainian partners on the issue of Russia’s responsibility for war crimes, Anka Feldhusen said.
The decision of the International Criminal Court (ICC) to issue an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin is timely. This is what the German Ambassador to Ukraine Anka Feldhusen said at a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine in Kyiv on Wednesday, March 22.
“If Putin appears on German territory, he will certainly be arrested, our Minister of Justice confirmed this. We are a party to the Rome Statute, like more than 120 countries, that is, it is very difficult for Putin to go on a business trip to these countries. We believe that this order It’s time to arrest,” he said.
Feldhusen also noted that Germany is already working with its Ukrainian partners on the issue of Russia’s responsibility for war crimes and the crime of aggression.
Recall that on March 17, the ICC issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin and Children’s Ombudsman Maria Alekseevna Lvovo-Belova. They are suspected of involvement in the illegal deportation of Ukrainian children.
After that, negotiations with Russia were decided in Ukraine, while the “face of Putin” represented this country.
