More than 2,000 bots spread disinformation about the situation at the front and urged Ukrainians to avoid mobilization.
Cyber-specialists of the Security Service liquidated the pro-Kremlin bot farm in the Khmelnytsky region. This was reported by the SBU press service on Wednesday, March 22.
More than 2,000 bots “spread” disinformation about the situation at the front and called on Ukrainians to avoid mobilization. Also, the pro-Russian cell is engaged in destroying the military-political leadership and units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
It was noted that the main “customers of services” of the bot farm are representatives of the special services of the Russian Federation. They bought fake accounts and used them on popular social networks ostensibly on behalf of ordinary Ukrainians.
By carrying out information sabotage, the aggressor tried to undermine the internal political situation in the western regions of Ukraine.
The SBU established that the illegal activity was organized by a resident of Kamenetz-Podolsky, a former policeman. He placed the hardware and software complex for “growing” bots in his own apartment in one of the residential areas of the city.
Special equipment allowed him to register hundreds of anonymous accounts every day. He received payment for the “rent” of the fake accounts through Russian electronic payment systems.
During searches of the address of the person involved, they found computer equipment, hundreds of SIM cards of mobile operators, special equipment and software.
It was previously reported that Russia has launched the most powerful information campaign against Ukraine in the West.
