With the money raised, the politicians bought 20 Toyota Hilux vehicles and two containers of useful products for the military.
Japanese representatives raised $1.2 million to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was announced on Tuesday, March 21, by Ukrainian Ambassador to Japan Serhiy Korsunsky.
He noted that deputies were able to raise money thanks to deductions from their salaries. Of them, in particular, cars for the Armed Forces of Ukraine were purchased.
“Today we have a small joy (except for the big one – the visit of Prime Minister Kishida to Kiev). A group of deputies of the upper house of the Japanese Parliament from the opposition Renaissance Party created a fund of $ 1.2 million at the expense of deductions from their salaries, where they bought 20 Toyota Helix trucks and two containers of useful products for our Armed Forces,” said Korsunsky.
According to him, Ukraine in the Japanese Parliament is supported by both pro-government deputies and opposition parties.
It will be remembered that on Tuesday, March 21, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida arrived in Kyiv to talk with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
