The head of state noted that no international institution can solve the problem of Zaporizhzhya NPP work.
Ukraine, together with its allies, needs to develop new mechanisms for the liberation of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant from Russian occupation, because international institutions are unable to solve this problem. This is what the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said at a joint briefing with the Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida on Tuesday, March 21.
He also added that new mechanisms for the de-occupation of the nuclear power plant were discussed with the head of the Japanese government.
“The format in which we live, with all respect and gratitude for what Mr. Grossi (IAEA Director General – ed.) is doing to resolve this situation, while nothing helps the Zaporozhye station, not one international institution can resolve. Therefore, we have to look for other mechanisms,” he concluded.
Recall that on the night of March 9, the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant was completely de-energized as a result of rocket attacks by the Russian Federation. The station was lost for half a day for the sixth time during the occupation.
Rafael Grossi gave a statement about the de-energization of ZNPP. And 49 countries demanded the withdrawal of the Russian military from the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.
