In the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the previously predicted media rotation took place.
On March 21, the Verkhovna Rada approved three new officials in office without any problems.
Oksen Lesnoy, the head of the Minor Academician of Sciences and a soldier, became the new head of the Ministry of Education. 313 elects voted for him.
50-year-old Lesnoy was born in the Kiev region in the family of a philosopher and human rights activist Vasily Lisovoy and teachers Vera Lisova-Grytsenko.
Vasily Lesnoy issued an open letter in defense of the sixties, for which he and his family were deported by the Soviet authorities to Siberia, where Oksen Lesnoy was born. His father spent 11 years in exile.
After the start of a full-scale invasion of Russia in February 2022, he volunteered to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine, fighting as part of the 95th separate air assault brigade. At the same time, remotely continues to act as director of the MAS.
The new Minister for Strategic Industries was the former head of Ukrzaliznytsia Alexander Kamyshin (312 votes).
The Council also appointed Mikhail Fedorov Vice Prime Minister for Innovation, Development of Education, Science and Technology – Minister of Digital Transformation (311 in favor).
In all three votings, the Eurosolidarity faction did not cast a single vote in favor. In the party of Petro Poroshenko, this was previously explained by the fact that the political force is in opposition to the authorities and does not intend to support government appointments.
Earlier yesterday, the Economic Committee of the Verkhovna Rada approved the appointment of Kamyshin, Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine. The Verkhovna Rada Committee on Digitalization approved the appointment of Vice Prime Minister for Innovation, Development of Education, Science and Technology – Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Fedorov.
