Sources in Russia and elsewhere tell British intelligence that the Russian leader is “really seriously ill.”
Russian President Vladimir Putin is seriously ill. However, it is not clear exactly what his illness was. Former British intelligence officer Christopher Steele, who from 2006 to 2009 headed Russia’s department of secret intelligence service MI6, in an interview with Sky News.
“It’s not entirely clear what kind of disease it is – incurable, deadly or something like that. But, of course, I think it’s part of the equation,” Steele said.
His comments came after Ukrainian Major General Kirill Budanov also said the Russian leader was seriously ill with cancer and a coup was being prepared in Russia to remove him.
Steele noted that even if Putin has serious health problems, it is still difficult to influence.
“I still think there are people telling him that this is a catastrophic war that, especially economically, will show badly in Russia, and we can only hope that it will lead to some kind of policy change or even if the regime changes from time to time, but this, of course, may not be so, ”the former British intelligence officer emphasized.
Earlier, Aleksey Arestovich, adviser to the head of the President’s Office, reported that Putin’s health was deteriorating.
Remember, Bellingcat group investigator Hristo Grozev said that one of the Russian oligarchs close to Putin had confirmed that the President of the Russian Federation was ill – he had a serious oncological illness.
