The first permanent US Army garrison in Poland was opened in Poznań. This was announced on March 21 by the country’s Ministry of National Defense.
During the Regional Support Group changeover ceremony at a US military garrison Kosciuszko camp Vice Prime Minister – Minister of National Defense Mariusz Blaszczak was also there.

The Deputy Prime Minister recalled that the forward command of the US Fifth Corps is deployed in the country, which controls the US ground forces in the eastern part of NATO.
“Our soldiers train together. Not far from Poznań, in Bedrusko, is the Abrams Academy, a base that trains Polish tankers to serve Abrams tanks, which this year will be transferred to the Polish Armed Forces. And this is good news for the security of Poland and the security of the eastern part of NATO,” Blaschak asserted.
The Minister of Defense called the cooperation between Warsaw and Washington “exemplary”.
“This year, in addition to the Abrams tanks, the Polish army will also receive the HIMARS system. The Patriot is already there. Next year we will receive the first F-35 aircraft. Talking “We are still with other military equipment. Our goal is to achieve interoperability with the armed forces of the United States,” he added.
Recall that the advanced headquarters of the US Fifth Corps is located in Poland in 2020. In July 2022, the military base was named Kosciuszko camp.
