In September 2022, a few days after the start of the mobilization, 250 doctors were immediately left on a charter flight by Russia, who were afraid of being sent to the armed forces.
Sistema, the investigative project Segodnya and Radio Liberty write about this.
According to journalists, the flight was organized by a “famous doctor.” The doctors who flew on the plane paid 40 thousand rubles for this opportunity, and some Russian billionaire from the Forbes list, who invests in digital technologies, added the rest of the money necessary to buy out the charters. The names of the organizer of the flight and the businessman of the publication are not disclosed for security reasons.
As a reason for flying abroad, the organizers of the flight came up with a legend about a medical congress in Yerevan. All passengers were given printed invitations to the non-existent congress, as well as notebooks and pens with its logo.
The day before departure, Sistema writes, it turned out that Yerevan Airport, overloaded with planes from Russia, no longer accepts charter flights. Then the organizers decided to fly to Kazakhstan – they had to reprint the invitation and paraphernalia. The aircraft flew to Astana on 27 September.
Recall that after the announcement of the mobilization of Russia, according to various estimates, they left from several hundred thousand to a million people. Most often they went to Kazakhstan, Georgia, Armenia and Turkey.
