The court passed a verdict for 20 deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation

The beginning of the term for serving sentences for convicted deputies is determined from the day of their actual imprisonment.

A Ukrainian court sentenced 20 deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation to 15 years in prison. This was reported by the SBU on Tuesday, March 21.

It was indicated that on February 15, 2022, these deputies supported the decision to appeal to the President of Russia with a request to recognize the “independence” of the temporarily occupied regions of Donetsk and Lugansk regions.

“And on February 22, they voted for the adoption of the so-called “agreement of friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance” between the Russian Federation and the terrorist organizations of “L / DPR”. Subsequently, used by “Kremlin these decisions. as a formal pretext for launching a large-scale invasion of Ukraine and justifying armed aggression,” the statement said.

Based on the collected evidence, the Russian deputies were found guilty under the article on encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine (part 3 of article 110 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and were sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property. .
