The Japanese Foreign Ministry confirmed the Prime Minister’s visit to Kyiv.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan confirmed the information about the visit of Prime Minister Fumio Kishida to Kyiv. The Japanese prime minister arrives in the Ukrainian capital on Tuesday from India.
According to the ministry, Kisida received an invitation to visit Kyiv from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Prime Minister Kisida will express to President Zelensky his respect for the courage and resilience of the Ukrainian people who stood up to defend their homeland, the report said.
From Kyiv, the Japanese prime minister will leave for Poland.
Kisida arrived in the capital of Ukraine after negotiations in India. Japan currently chairs the G7. In May, the G7 summit will be held in Hiroshima, to which, as Japanese media reported, they planned to invite Vladimir Zelensky.
