Employees of the relevant departments of the Office of the President met with the delegation to receive the appeal, register it and submit it for further consideration, but the members of the synod wanted a personal meeting.
The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky did not plan a meeting with UOC-MP representatives today, March 20. The delegations offered to submit a corresponding appeal, but they refused and insisted on having a personal meeting . This was announced by presidential press secretary Serhiy Nikiforov, writes Ukrinform.
“The President of Ukraine did not have a meeting with UOC-MP representatives for today. Instead, we can report that employees of the relevant departments of the Office of the President met with the delegation to receive an appeal, register it and submit it for further consideration. At the moment, representatives of the UOC-MP have such an appeal. They refuse to transfer it,” said Nikiforov.
Earlier it was reported that members of the UOC-MP synod came to the OP requesting a personal meeting with President Zelensky.
It was previously reported that the monks of the UOC-MP were obliged to leave the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra until March 29.
In addition, the Ministry of Culture warned the UOC-MP against stealing relics from the Lavra, which threatens criminal liability.
It is also worth noting that the Kremlin expressed anger at the request for UOC monks to leave the Lavra in Kyiv.
