Those who commit war crimes on the territory of Ukraine must be held accountable, the US State Department said.
The United States has no doubt that the Russian Federation and its army are committing war crimes in Ukraine. This was announced on Friday, March 17, by the spokesman of the US State Department, Ned Price on video briefing.
“There is no doubt that Russia is committing war crimes and atrocities in Ukraine,” Price said.
He also reacted to the International Criminal Court’s decision to issue an arrest warrant for Kremlin head Vladimir Putin.
“The Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court is an independent person and makes his own judgments based on the evidence available to him. Those responsible for war crimes must be held accountable,” the White House said in a statement.
It will be recalled that the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague issued international warrants for the arrest of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
According to the court’s decision, now Putin must be arrested in 123 countries around the world that have ratified the Rome Statute or recognize the jurisdiction of the ICC.
