The tests of an intercontinental ballistic missile took place under the personal supervision of the country’s leader, Kim Jong-un.
North Korea launched an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) on March 16 Hwaseong-17. This was reported by Yonhap agency, citing North Korean media.
It noted that Pyongyang showed the “strongest reaction” of its strategic forces to the “aggressive” military exercises of the United States and South Korea.
The purpose of the missile test was “to confirm the mobility, normal operation and reliability of North Korea’s nuclear deterrent.” The country’s leader, Kim Jong-un, “personally supervised the launch of the ICBMs and expressed satisfaction with the results.” With him is his daughter Kim Joo-ae.
According to the CTC, Hwaseong-17which was launched at Pyongyang International Airport, reached a maximum altitude of 6,045 kilometers and flew 1,000.2 kilometers in 4,151 seconds before precisely landing “at a specific place in the open waters of the East Sea.”
It is said that the tests did not affect the security of neighboring countries.
Earlier, South Korean and Japanese military officials said North Korea fired a long-range ballistic missile into the Sea of Japan on Thursday.
It can be recalled that the joint military exercise of the United States and South Korea Freedom Shield began on March 13.
In response, Pyongyang decided to take “practical measures of military restraint”, saying that the military provocations of Washington and Seoul “come across the red line.”
