On Thursday, March 16, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba had a telephone conversation with Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang. This was reported by the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

According to the Ukrainian Foreign Minister, China is not only an important partner of Ukraine, but an indispensable and major force in international relations. He welcomed China’s recent success in the rapprochement between Saudi Arabia and Iran, and noted that Ukraine looks forward to building mutual trust and deepening cooperation.
Kuleba also thanked China for providing humanitarian assistance to Ukraine.
According to him, the position paper released by China regarding the political settlement of the Ukrainian crisis reflects its sincerity in promoting ceasefire and war.
Qin Gang focused on the “four principles” put forward by Chinese leader Xi Jinping during the talks, emphasizing that China has always maintained an objective and impartial position on the Ukrainian issue, and will be committed to achieving peace and promoting negotiations.
He called on the international community to create conditions for peace talks.
“China is concerned about the escalation of the crisis, which may spiral out of control, and hopes that all parties will remain calm, rational and restrained, resume peace talks as soon as possible, and insist on returning to a political solution… China will continue to play a constructive role for a ceasefire to stop the war, ease the crisis and restore peace,” the statement said.
It will be remembered that China presented a “peace plan” to resolve the war on the territory of Ukraine. The document gives a ceasefire and peace talks between Ukraine and Russia as key points.
