French Armed Forces Minister Sebastien Lecornu announced the arrival of the first batch of French AMX-10 RC wheeled tanks in Ukraine. According to him, some have already gone to the front line.
Lecorne’s statement was made at the hearings of the Defense Committee of the National Assembly of France, writes Le Figaro. The minister pointed out that the AMX-10 RC “have just arrived in Ukraine”, and “some of them have already gone to the front line.”
The head of the French defense department added that Paris is now starting to plan to send a second batch of wheeled tanks.
I am preparing a number of decisions for the president (Macron – ed.), because the AMX-10 RC are starting to get good reviews from Ukrainian partners, Lecornu added.
Earlier, Paris announced the transfer of 14 wheeled tanks, a total of about 40 vehicles are expected to be transferred.
Recall that as of 2021, the French army had more than 240 AMX-10 RC tanks, from 2021 they are gradually being replaced by Jaguar combat reconnaissance vehicles.
