The military aid package from Tallinn to Kyiv includes sniper weapons, ammunition and equipment.
The Estonian government has supported Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur’s proposal to transfer another package of military aid to Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Estonia.
“Yesterday, together with our allies, we discussed the current state of aid to Ukraine in the Ramstein format, and it is clear that there is no place to devote extra time to the support of Ukraine. Our big initiative is aimed at the joint purchase of one million artillery shells by the European Union, but we must also continue with smaller and targeted aid packages. Hence our decision today to direct this aid package, as a continuation of the previous one, to provide tools to special forces and snipers,” the official said.
The aid package from Tallinn includes:
-
semi-automatic rifle,
-
sniper rifles,
-
optical sight,
-
binoculars,
-
bullets,
-
personal and special equipment,
-
patrol boats,
-
thermal imagers.
Estonia will also provide medical equipment to Ukraine.
The total amount of military aid is 494,300 euros.
It will be recalled that on February 26, Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur announced a new military aid package during his visit to Kyiv.
In addition, Estonia previously called on the EU to increase the production of ammunition for Ukraine.
