Each season of the year calls for a different type of fragrance. For example, during spring and summer, it is best to opt for light, fresher fragrances with citrus or floral notes. That’s because heat tends to make them stronger, which can cause headaches or discomfort in more sensitive people. In autumn and winter, fragrances can be warmer and more intense, with woody notes and spices.
French perfumery is successful all over the world and has conquered Brazilians for years. Therefore, perfumer Poliana Palhano, who works at Fragrance de L’opéra in Paris, France, shared valuable tips on how to use perfume in the most appropriate way.
Never rub the essence
“During the day, using a cologne or Eau de Toilette is a good choice, as they are lighter options. For the night, opt for a Parfum orEau de Parfum, as they are stronger and appropriate for the time of day. Spray the perfume on the hot parts of the body and never rub it on the bodybecause this can change its molecules and consequently its smell”, advises Poliana.
Difference between Eau de Parfum and Eau de Toilette
The perfumer explains that many people they buy perfumes, but they don’t know the difference between an Eau de Parfum and an Eau de Toilette. The difference between perfumes is basically the amount of essence; the lighter ones, like colognes or Eau de Toilette, have more alcohol and little essence, that is, they are more diluted, consequently the fixation is much smaller.
Parfum, Eau de Parfum and Elixir have larger amounts of essence, they last better, but are much more expensive, as they are less diluted. These differences affect not only the scent’s intensity, but also its duration and hold on the skin.
Choosing the right fragrance for each season of the year and occasion can make all the difference in arriving elegantly at an event, at work or even at home. simple public spaces.
