Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine came to the well-known Ukrainophobe Father Sidor in Uzhgorod.
According to the investigation, the rector of the Exaltation of the Cross Cathedral of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate in Transcarpathia has repeatedly publicly insulted the religious feelings of Ukrainians who want to celebrate Christmas on December 25. Also during the sermons, he insulted the believers of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
The odious father Sidor, the famous “radical Rusyn” and the largest preacher of the “Russian world” in Transcarpathia, was informed of suspicion of inciting religious enmity and hatred.
Employees of the SBU documented seven episodes when the priest humiliated the religious feelings of citizens of other faiths and tried to create hostility towards them.
Father Sidor is one of the active figures of the Rusyn movement, advocating the recognition of the Rusyns as a separate nation and the creation of the administrative-national territory “Podkarpatskaya Rus” in Transcarpathia.
Sidor in 2007 became the leader of the Seim of Transcarpathian Rusyns, and in 2008 he was involved in a criminal case on separatism. He was sentenced in this 2012 case to three years in prison with a two-year suspension of execution.
