Joining the European energy network ENTSO-E has helped Ukraine withstand enemy missile attacks, the prime minister said.
Ukraine became part of the European energy network ENTSO-E exactly one year ago, which has helped the country withstand missile attacks. This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmihal on his Telegram channel on Thursday, March 16.
“Today, exactly one year has passed since Ukraine became part of the European energy network ENTSO-E. The energy visa-free regime has been a significant support for European partners and helped us cope with missile attack,” he said.
According to him, the synchronization of the energy systems of Ukraine and the EU is also a great contribution to the overall energy security of Europe.
“We have not eliminated Russia’s influence on our country’s energy system forever,” the head of government said.
The official also noted that access to a large European market allows Ukrainian energy companies to raise funds and prepare for a difficult heating season.
In addition, Ukrainian industry has been able to work even during a system shortage caused by Russia’s shelling, Shmygal added.
Recall that the head of the Ministry of Energy German Galushchenko said that Ukraine is ending the heating period with excess capacity and with sufficient reserves of gas and coal.
