In Zhytomyr, an officer who beat a conscript soldier was notified of suspicion of abuse of power. This was reported by the press service of the Office of the Prosecutor General.
“According to the investigation, on March 11, 2023, the junior lieutenant, while in the position of commander of a platoon of a security company of a military unit, used violence against a soldier, causing minor injuries body on him. The suspect was dissatisfied with the conscript who was drunk and his inappropriate behavior. Thus, the officer violated the requirements of the Statutes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the procedure for military service under martial law,” the report said.
The issue of choosing the measure of detention for the suspect is being decided.
“In addition, an administrative protocol was made against the command of the military unit on the fact of negligent attitude to the military service in relation to the late notification of the prosecutor and the State Bureau of Investigation about a crime committed in the unit of military,” the Attorney General’s Office notes.
