China, Iran and Russia have started joint naval exercises Security Bond-2023 in the Gulf of Oman, which will last until March 19.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of China.
The Security Bond-2023 training was developed on the basis of previous joint exercises of China, Iran and Russia in 2019 and 2022. In particular, the armies of dictatorial countries will work out aerial reconnaissance, rescue operations, maneuvering, etc.
Beijing says the exercise is to “deepen practical cooperation between the navies of the participating countries” and demonstrate the willingness and ability to “jointly maintain maritime security and actively build maritime cooperation and inject positive energy into regional peace and stability.”
China sent the missile destroyer Nanning to the Gulf.
