He Chairman of the Council of MinistersAlberto Otarola, reached Punta Hermosa district, one of the hardest hit by rain-driven landslides to monitor emergency care. When asked about Health Secretary Rosa Gutierrez’s trip to Washington, D.C. in the company of her best 11-year-old son, the head of the PCM assured that “take good care of health”.
“She went on a trip representing Peru. She’s returning for emergency response today. Indeed, we met all night with the entire medical apparatus, and they are deployed throughout the country (…). Currently, the health of Peruvians is well monitored”, he told the press.
“The Worst Behind”
On another occasion, Otarola said that “the worst is behind us.” However, according to Senamha, the rains will continue from moderate to extreme until Friday, March 17.
“Last night, here in Punta Hermosa, mud fell heavily. And thanks to the actions of the mayor, the support of the neighbors, as well as the solidarity support of the Municipality of Surko, it was possible to contain this emergency and take measures (… ). We believe that from a climatological point of view, the worst is behind us.because the alarm was at night, it’s early today,” he said.
“What we are currently doing is an inspection, giving mayors the opportunity to improve or collect all the clearance or damage that these landslides can cause,” he concluded.
Oscar Becerra: “The Minister of Health has gone to an important meeting for the health of the country and the hemisphere”
Meanwhile, the minister of education Oscar Becerraclarified that the trip of Minister Rosa Gutierrez is of vital importance for the country and even for the entire hemisphere.
“The Minister, as I understand it, has gone to an important meeting for the health of the country and the hemisphere. It was a meeting that Peru was absent from several times. And at the time when the decision was made and the minister traveled, the situation was not the same as it is now,” he said.
