Turning off the light can be applied in Ukraine in case of an increase in electricity consumption. This was announced on March 15 by Ukrenergo.
These are the following areas:
-
Zhytomyr,
-
Kharkiv,
-
Poltava,
-
Sumy,
-
Kievskaya and the city of Kyiv.
There will be no restrictions in other regions.
Ukrenergo indicates that all types of power plants are now operating, including hydroelectric power plants. Electricity generation is sufficient to cover consumption. It was also possible to resume the operation of one of the power units of power plants, which increased the available amount of generating capacity in the energy system. In addition, there is a small import of electricity.
Network restrictions remain in the Zhytomyr and Kharkiv regions, where the latest Russian missile attack on March 9 severely damaged networks. Also, there are still network restrictions in the Poltava region, Sumy region, Kiev region and Kyiv.
The situation in the regions along the front line remains difficult. In particular, energy infrastructure facilities were damaged yesterday in the Donetsk region, as well as in the Kherson region.
