A group of international journalists received a document entitled “Strategic goals of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Moldova”, containing various tactics of Moscow to conquer Chisinau.
The Kremlin developed this document about two years ago. It is based on distancing the country from the West, forcing Moldova to participate in the CSTO (a military-political organization that includes Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan – ed.), the special status of Transnistria, increasing the influence of propaganda and building up pro-Russian . sentiments in society, increasing Moldova’s dependence on Russian energy resources, as well as an increase in Russia’s military presence in the country.
According to the plan, the Russian Federation planned to take Chisinau under its control until 2030.
The document was prepared in the Office of the President of Russia for cross-border cooperation. It was this department that previously prepared a plan to absorb Belarus.
Moldovan investigative journalists, in collaboration with 10 publications from Europe and the United States, learned about the Russian strategy of influencing the country. The strategy defines 2030 as the “deadline” for bringing Moldova under control.
Until 2022, Russia planned to neutralize Moldova’s initiatives to eliminate the presence of the Russian military in Transnistria. Until 2025, to form pro-Russian sentiments among the political and economic elite of Moldova and interfere with the country’s cooperation with NATO. By 2030, sustainable pro-Russian pressure groups were to be established in the neighboring country to advance the Kremlin’s narratives.
