The device belongs to the United States, and the country’s authorities are taking steps to protect it.
The United States is taking the necessary steps to ensure that the destruction of an American drone that crashed in the Black Sea “does not fall into the wrong hands.” This was said on March 14 by the Coordinator for Strategic Communications of the National Security Council at the White House, John Kirby, in a commentary on CNN.
“Without details, I can say that we have taken steps to protect our assets related to this particular drone. It is the property of the United States. We do not want anyone but us to take their hands here,” emphasized the representative of the American administration.
He also dismissed the Russian Defense Ministry’s version of the incident and warned of immediate and “wider consequences”.
To recall, on Tuesday, the US military said that a Russian aircraft shot down a US reconnaissance drone over the Black Sea.
The Russian Federation has denied that its Su-27 fighters were involved in the downing of the MQ-9 Reaper UAV. According to the country’s Ministry of Defense, the device “flew with violations” and fell as a result of sharp maneuvering.
