The United States of America does not object to the transfer of aircraft to Ukraine by third countries. This was stated by the representative of the US National Security Council, Pentagon Speaker John Kirby.
Earlier today, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced Warsaw’s intention to transfer MiG-29 fighter jets to the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the next four to six weeks.
The decision of any country to transfer combat aircraft to Ukraine is sovereign, and the United States does not object to such initiatives, Kirby said during an online briefing.
He stressed that Washington does not press or persuade anyone on the issue of providing military assistance to Kyiv. According to him, coordination is taking place at the international level, including in the Rammstein format.
If another nation wants to transfer fighter jets to Ukraine, we certainly supported this,” the Pentagon speaker added.
Recall that a new meeting in the Ramstein format will be held on Wednesday, March 15. According to Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov, today he discussed with the head of the defense department of the Netherlands Kaisa Ollongren “important issues in preparation for the next meeting in the Ramstein format.” Reznikov also talked on the phone with the head of the Pentagon, Lloyd Austin.
