Reznikov noted that receiving Ukraine’s fighter jets would speed up the process of liberating Russian-occupied territories.
The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov said that the successful offensive of the Ukrainian army depends on three factors. He said this at a joint briefing of the Ministers of Defense of Ukraine and the Netherlands at the Ukraine-Odessa Media Center on March 14.
According to Reznikov, the reception of Ukrainian fighter jets will speed up the process of liberating the territories occupied by Russia.
As the minister said, three factors must be followed for a successful offensive.
“First, put the enemy on the defensive. Second, deprive him of air dominance. Third, destroy his logistical chains. There are two factors in these three tasks – aviation,” he said.
Reznikov emphasized that Ukraine needs fighters especially to improve and strengthen air defense.
“We need the aviation platform as an improvement and strengthening of our air defense system, because there is not enough ground-to-air system. We are fighting on the diplomatic front, convincing our partners that it is necessary to make a decision on the main vehicle aircraft as an element of protection in the first place. The sooner we get aircraft, the more human lives will be saved,” said the head of the Defense Ministry.
Remember, Dutch Defense Minister Kaisa Ollongren said that international allies are debating the type of aircraft that should be transferred to Ukraine to strengthen air defense.
