Large-scale air alerts on March 14 are associated with the activity of Russian tactical aviation, the threat of the use of ballistic missiles and the flights of the MiG-31K fighter. This was announced by the press secretary of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yuriy Ignat.
Nothing out of the ordinary is happening. The enemy does this all the time, every day they attack our positions along the entire line of collision with tactical aircraft. The enemy is delivering missile and bomb strikes on our positions, including anti-radar missiles,” Ignat noted.
The Air Force cannot shoot down high-speed targets (Kh-31P) with existing weapons. At the same time, he added that there are different methods of countering missiles (Ukrainian air defense radar stations can be turned off), so enemy missiles did not reach their targets, although the fragments of one of them caused damage to local infrastructure.
The air raids associated with the MiG were short-lived. These were probably training flights or maneuvers. However, under no circumstances should the threat of the Kinzhal missile, against which Ukraine’s air defenses have countermeasures, be ignored,” Ignat added.
Since 10.27 in the east of Ukraine there was a threat of using operational-tactical missile systems (Iskander).
At 15.26 an air raid alarm was heard due to the threat of the use of ballistic missiles.
Three more alarms throughout Ukraine (13.00, 14.30, 16.30) were announced due to the take-off of the MiG-31K fighter from the Savasleyka airbase in the Nizhny Novgorod region of Russia.
Recall that during the preliminary alarm, Russia launched a missile attack on the Odessa region using tactical aircraft. Coming in from the sea, Su-24 aircraft fired four anti-radar missiles in the direction of the coast. The Ukrainian air defense forces shot them down, but fragments of one of the missiles fell on the territory of the kindergarten.
