In 2022, banks issued 357 mortgage loans in the amount of UAH 449.5 million, which is twice less than in January 2022 in terms of the number of such loans, and by 25% in terms of volume . This was reported by the National Bank.
It was noted that the issuance of mortgages in January was carried out by four banks that issued loans under the state programs Affordable Mortgage and єOselya exclusively in the secondary real estate market.
The weighted average effective mortgage rate in January was 7.5%, while in December 2022 it was 8.3%.
More mortgage loans were issued in January in Kyiv and Kyiv region – 83 contracts for a total of UAH 114.7 million (26% of the total), in Volyn region – 42 contracts for UAH 50.8 million (11%), Rivne region – 36 contracts for UAH 40.1 million (9%) and Lviv region – 28 contracts for UAH 39.9 million (9%).
It can be remembered that starting in September of last year, mortgage lending was gradually restored in the country.
