The assets of TsENKI have been arrested, and its head is prohibited from leaving the country’s territory until investigative actions are completed.
Kazakhstan seized the property of the Center for the Operation of Ground-Based Space Infrastructure (TSENKI), the main operator of Russian spaceports, belonging to Roscosmos. This was reported by the Kazakh news agency apa on Monday, March 13.
The reason for this decision is the debt of 13.5 billion tenge (1.05 billion hryvnia) to JSC Joint Kazakh-Russian venture Baiterek.
The debt itself arose because of the work to assess the environmental impact of the Soyuz-5 rocket.
The bailiff service of the Republic of Kazakhstan prohibited Tsenki from withdrawing material values and assets from the country. The head of the Center is forbidden to leave the territory of the republic until the end of the investigative actions.
As previously reported, Kazakhstan closed its trade office in Russia. This is stated in the Decree of the Government of the Republic on Some Issues of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
