The situation around Bakhmut in the Donetsk region remains difficult.
Assault squads of the private military company Wagner attack from several directions. The enemy is trying to break through the defenses of the Ukrainian defense forces and move into the central areas of the city. This was announced on March 13 by the commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel-General Alexander Syrsky, the Military Media Center Telegram channel reports.
The general assured that the Ukrainian military inflicted significant losses on the enemy during fierce battles. All attempts by the Russian occupiers are repulsed by artillery and tank fire.

Recall that on March 11, British intelligence reported that over the past four days, Wagner units had taken control of most of the eastern part of Bakhmut, and the Bakhmutka River in the city center now marks the front line. And President Volodymyr Zelensky informed that over the past week, in the Bakhmut direction, the Russian army lost more than 1,100 soldiers killed and 1,500 wounded. More than 10 warehouses with enemy ammunition were also destroyed.
