The Russian invaders, during the last massive missile and drone attack on March 9, tested Ukrainian air defenses.
In particular, they tried to identify the MIM-104 Patriot systems, which were reported the day before – the rashists sought to find out if Ukraine was already protected by such weapons. This was announced on the air of the national telethon by the press secretary of the Operational Command “South” Natalia Gumenyuk.
We expected the accumulation of forces and means, carefully monitored the actions of the enemy and understood that wave-like attacks were being prepared. At the same time, we were all ready for them to look for new tactics of action, including countering our air defense,” Gumenyuk noted.
She also explained the essence of the tactics of the wave-like air attack of the occupiers, which is used by the occupiers:
- first of all, the rashists used Iranian-made Shahed-136 kamikaze drones, firing at certain objects and distracting our air defense;
- after that, the strike of various-based missiles was massive, which were already used, including for searching for air defense systems;
- Subsequently, the aggressor resorted to the use of drones already to check the results of strikes and additional reconnaissance of the work of air defense.
