“We have fulfilled almost 80% of our obligation under the Association Agreement. We are now reviewing the compliance of our legislation with European standards, so that when negotiations begin, we will not hesitate and be ready to negotiate , complete them and join the EU,” he said. he.
Regarding the 20% that remains to be fulfilled, Stefanishina explained that these are definitely “old school obligations”, since the negotiations on the conclusion of the Agreement were conducted in 2009 during a different legal reality.
“These are obligations that of course, we will fulfill where possible, but this is, let’s say, an old page in our relations. Today we are assessed in the EU as a country that will be part of the European Union, and not a country if where there will be partnerships. relations.
