The Ukrainian Armed Forces likely received one of two American Patriot air defense systems promised by the US and Germany, but it has not yet entered service.
This was reported by the Financial Times.
Several Patriot launchers from the Netherlands are also expected.
The Patriot medium-range air defense system has yet to be tested against the ballistic Kinzhals that Russia periodically attacks Ukraine with. The air defense forces of Ukraine now cannot shoot down Kinzhals.
Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov said in January that the Americans would teach Ukrainian officers to lead the Patriot in 10 weeks.
Recall, on December 21, Washington announced a new military aid package for Ukraine, including a battery of Patriot air defense systems. In January, it became known that Berlin would transfer an additional battery to Patriot, and the Netherlands two more launchers.
