The European Commission’s assessment is important in the context of Ukraine’s further movement to start negotiations on Ukraine’s membership in the European Union.
The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, positively assessed Ukraine’s new anti-corruption measures, which are important for European integration. This was announced on Thursday, March 9, by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in a video message.
“Madam President of the European Commission positively assessed the progress of our state in the direction of anti-corruption. In particular, the approval of the Anti-Corruption Strategy and the appointment of a new director of NABU,” he said.
The President noted that this assessment is important in the context of our further movement towards European integration before the start of negotiations on Ukraine’s membership in the European Union.
Recall that the Cabinet of Ministers recently appointed a new director of NABU.
It was previously reported that the Cabinet of Ministers approved the State Anti-Corruption Program as part of building a modern and efficient anti-corruption infrastructure in Ukraine.
It should be noted that the European Commission, against the backdrop of a corruption investigation in Ukraine, welcomes the state’s efforts to carry out reforms to eradicate this phenomenon.
