The Ukrainian Defense Forces understand the tactical importance of Bakhmut for the enemy and know his plans, the Commander-in-Chief of the Ground Forces assured.
The defense forces did not allow the enemy to take the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region in an operational encirclement, but the situation remains very difficult. This was announced by the commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel-General Alexander Syrsky in Telegram on Thursday, March 9.
He said that defense is an organization of actions built on strategy, discipline and confidence of personnel. And its success depends on the intelligence and cunning of each commander. The Armed Forces of Ukraine must predict the actions of the enemy, with a quantitative advantage.
“The defense of Bakhmut has been going on for almost 10 months. The defense forces have taken some tactical actions that have not allowed the enemy to bring the city into an operational encirclement at the moment. But the situation remains very difficult, ” Syrsky wrote.
The colonel-general noted that the Russians were acting in the usual way and were not counting people. But the number of fighters was not a decisive advantage or a factor in victory.
And the Ukrainian Defense Forces understand the tactical importance of Bakhmut for the enemy and know his plans for actions in other sectors of the front. He continues to defend the city, but the situation is changing.
“Here, every move and decision can radically change it. Every day has the highest value,” he added.
It will be remembered that this week at a meeting of the Headquarters of the Supreme Commander, it was decided that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will continue to defend Bakhmut and even strengthen the positions in the city.
