The forecast for the extension of the agreement will be pessimistic if the West continues to not fulfill its “Russian” part, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry.

Regular rounds of consultations between representatives of Russia and the UN on the grain deal are held in Geneva, Switzerland. This was stated at a briefing by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova on Thursday, March 9.

“The next round of consultations is scheduled for March 13 in Geneva, where a Russian interdepartmental delegation will take part, there will be high-ranking UN representatives, the head of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs Martin Griffiths and Secretary General. of the UN Conference on Trade and Development Rebeca Greenspan, and will discuss a deal”, – he said.

Zakharova added that the forecast for the extension of the grain deal will be pessimistic if the West continues to not fulfill the “Russian” part.

As you know, on March 18, the grain deal ends. Its extension is in doubt due to Russian conditions.

The aggressor country blocks ship inspections in the Bosphorus. As a result, in January, the export of Ukrainian agricultural products fell by 25% compared to December.

And the day before, in Kyiv, President Volodymyr Zelensky and UN Secretary General António Guterres supported the extension of the grain deal.
