The State Headquarters for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice and its head are subject to restrictions.
The UK has imposed new sanctions on Iran for violating women’s rights. This was stated in the message of the British Foreign Office on Wednesday, March 8.
Sanctions were imposed against the Iranian State Headquarters to promote virtue and avoid vice. Its head, Syed Mohammad Saleh Hashemi Golpayegani, is also under restriction.
The headquarters, which is one of the structures of the Iranian state, participates in determining the standards of behavior in society and ensures that they are followed.
The British Foreign Office noted that Headquarters employees were forcing Iranian women to wear the hijab, including by force.
The state structure is responsible for violating the right to freedom and security, as well as the right to freedom of expression, by establishing a mandatory dress code for women and monitoring its compliance, including through the unjust use of force against women.
